The Creating Balance in an Unjust World Conference on Math Education and Social Justice will be held in at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa College of Education in Honolulu, HI January 17th-19th, 2020.
This conference has historically been planned by math teachers on the mainland but this year has been included organizers here in Hawaii who incorporated local leaders and workshops that reflect varied social justice topics and STEAMM disciplines.
The theme is Akeakamai: Critical Re-envisioning of STEM Education Through the Lens of Culture and Place.
