National Geographic Documentary Films and Neon’s Oscar®-nominated FIRE OF LOVE tells the extraordinary love story of intrepid French scientists Katia and Maurice Krafft, who died just as explosively as they lived — capturing the most spectacular imagery ever recorded of their greatest passion: volcanoes. Through Picture Motion’s recently launched screening tour for the film, they are working closely with schools and non-profit organizations to support online, in person or hybrid screenings and action-oriented conversations to elevate the critical work of influential women scientists like Katia and encourage young women to pursue studies, careers, and hobbies in STEAM-related fields.
EDUCATORS will be provided the links for the STEM resources created to go with this program.
There are TONS of educational & discussion materials that accompany the film. You may want to share these with your network also. The resources are great for preparing your students for an in class showing – Link will remain live until April 22 for HaSTA members and registered viewers.
